ALEX THE ASTRONAUT ANNOUNCES I THINK YOU’RE GREAT TOUR DATES
(& Playing SXSW and Splendour in the Grass)

Following the release of the widely-praised single “I Think You”re Great” in January, Sydney-born singer, songwriter and storyteller ALEX THE ASTRONAUT
readies her new band of space cadets for a string of Australian headline tour dates in Hobart, Launceston, Melbourne, Fremantle, Adelaide and Sydney this April.
See all venue and ticketing details below.

The tour dates follow the release of ‘I Think You’re Great’, Alex’s latest single, which pays tribute to a cherished friend in her life. The track was co-produced by
Sam Cromack and Daniel Hanson of Ball Park Music and is about the importance of checking in on each other, opening up conversations and supporting friends
through thick and thin.

Premiering on triple j, ‘I Think You’re Great’ was added to full rotation and went on to receive support and praise from The Guardian, Junkee, NME, Music Feeds,
Brooklyn Vegan and Refinery29, among others. The track has also been championed by Apple Music and Spotify across various playlists.

Alex heads to the US this March for SXSW and a run of dates with Nettwerk labelmates Jack River and Didirri. She will then return home to play the
'I Think You’re Great tour' before heading to Byron Bay for Splendour in the Grass in July.

The following year Alex returned with ‘Not Worth Hiding’, an open letter to her 16-year-old self that details the journey to owning her sexuality, which arrived as Australia was debating marriage equality and became the unofficial anthem of the Vote Yes movement. It was played by none other than Elton John on his Beats 1 radio show and ranked at number 23 in tastemaker radio station triple j’s Hottest 100, the publicly voted poll of the best songs of the year.

Along the way, Alex has taken her music to the stages of international festivals like The UK’s Great Escape, Primavera Sound in Spain and Manchester’s Neighbourhood Festival. At home in Australia, she’s played Splendour in the Grass (& soon agin in 2020), triple j’s One Night Stand and a soldout national headline tours of her own.  Her music is released on her own label “Minkowski Records“ via AWAL in Australia and she recently signed to big independent label Nettwerk for the rest of the world.

With a new album looming, Alex now announces a new tour together with her newly
formed band of space cadets. Coming along for the ride will be up and coming indie stars, Fletcher Gull.
